Not exactly the game that University of Colorado men’s basketball coach, Tad Boyle, was hoping for against his alma mater, the University of Kansas, Saturday afternoon.
At Allen Fieldhouse, one of the most intimidating home courts in college basketball, Kansas came out strong and dominated the Buffs, who appeared timid throughout the game.

The No.9—ranked Jayhawks stomped on the Buffaloes, 90—54, leaving Colorado winless (0—4) in its series against KU with Boyle as head coach.
The loss gives the Buffs a record of 7—2 overall. The Jayhawks improve to 7—1, their only loss coming against Michigan State University.
Freshman forward Josh Scott was the leading scorer for the Buffs, racking up 19 total points. He was followed by sophomore guard Askia Booker, who added 15. Booker has been having trouble with his offensive game for the past two games, being held to just six in each.
The Buffs committed 18 total turnovers, resulting in 26 points for the Jayhawks.
At halftime, KU already had a substantial lead on the Buffs, 43—22, causing Colorado to reconsider its game plan. The halftime score was the lowest for CU in any half this season, and the most points allowed as well.

Colorado experienced a big scare in the 16th minute, as sophomore guard Spencer Dinwiddie went down with an ankle injury. He would not come back into the game until 10 minutes before halftime, after which he scored his first and only points of the half. He had been the top scorer for the Buffs so far this season, averaging 17.8 points per game.
The Buffs had too big of a hole to climb out of in the second half, trailing by 36 at the final buzzer.
CU heads to California next week to take on Fresno State University on the road. The game is set for Wednesday Dec. 12. at 8 p.m. MST.
