A man is now in custody after a standoff between himself and Boulder PD at Boulder Community Hospital today.
According to a Boulder PD news release, the incident began around 3:20 p.m. when a suicidal man armed when a handgun was called into dispatch by a friend outside the Boulder Community Hospital.
According to the release, Boulder Police SWAT team was able to isolate the suspect, whose identity is not being released, near a northeast wall of the hospital. They spoke to the man all afternoon, and he surrendered his weapon around 7:00 p.m. this evening.
The suspect is in custody and will face misdemeanor charges of Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Carrying of a Concealed Weapon.
