Monday-Valentines Day
Dance for Hope at the UMC Ballroom
If you dont have a date, have a date planned but dont know what to do, or just want to avoid watching chick flicks and stuffing yourself with chocolate, come to the first annual brought to you by CUSAMS. Its salsa themed, so if you want lessons, come early to the Glenn Miller Ballroom in the UMC at 7:00 p.m. Dancing starts at 8:30 p.m. and is free with your Buff OneCard.
Best Coast and Wavves at the Fox Theatre
For those especially anti-Valentines, rock out at the Fox to Best Coast and Wavves. No Joy kicks the show off at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 day of show with an extra $2 if under 21.
Tuesday
King x Gibson, Babe Night at the Goose
Forget about Valentines Day already and catch King x Gibson play at the Goose. Vodka is free for the ladies until midnight, and $2.00 Bud drafts and whiskey all night. The party starts at 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday
Maze at the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom
Blending illusions with humor, psychology, magic and danger, Maze is not your typical magic show. Tickets are $3 for students. Look for the Maze people tabling in the UMC Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The show starts at 7:00 p.m.
Trivia with Tom at the Walrus
Get your geek on with Tom at the Walrus- its trivia night! Dont worry, there are drink specials: $1.50 microbrew in 10-oz. mugs (Sign us up!), $1.75 wells and $2.50 23-oz. Miller, Coors and PBR draughts.
Thursday
The Heyday at the Lazy Dog
Come catch indie rockers The Heyday at the Lazy Dog. There is no cover but get there early to get a good seat.
Juno What? at the Fox
High-energy funk-disco, synthesizer band Juno What? at the Fox. Be ready to get your groove on at 9:00 p.m. with Good Gravy. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door with an extra $2 if youre under 21.
Friday
Program Council presents Morning Glory in Chem 140
Rachel McAdams plays a hard-working morning TV producer looking for her break into something bigger. Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton co-star. The show is free and starts at 9:00 p.m.
The Boulder International Film Festival starts on Thursday, February 17 and goes through Sunday, February 20. James Franco will be there for A Conversation with James Franco on Saturday. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Boulder Theater box office on Pearl and 14th St. or here.
