For the second night in a row, a CU team fell to a visiting team from Kansas on the hardwood.
Despite a promising nine-point rally that gave the Buffs a four-point lead in the second half, the CU women’s basketball team could not hold off the Kansas State Wildcats on Wednesday night at the Coors Events Center, losing 72-59.
The Buffs (11-8, 2-4 Big 12) returned to their home court off a Big 12 victory against Missouri looking for a second straight victory, but K-State (14-5, 4-2 Big 12) had a different plan.
Sophomore guard Chucky Jeffery came off the bench and amassed a team-best of 19 points, while senior forward Brittany Spears added 13 points.
Colorado will look to recoup before a two-game road stretch against Texas on Jan. 30 and Kansas on Feb. 2.
