What do mullets, action and a SNL parody have in common? MacGruber.
Cast members will be at the preview of the major motion picture Wednesday night, according to a news release. The event is hosted by the Program Council.
“Only one American hero has earned the rank of the Green Beret, Navy SEAL and Army Ranger,” the release said. “Just one operative has been awarded 16 Purple Hearts, three Congressional Medals of Honor and seven presidential medals of bravery. And only one guy is man enough to still sport a mullet.”
MacGruber, played by Will Forte, has been a 60-second sketch on Saturday Night Live. It is a parody on the action-adventure television spy series, MacGyver. Joined by Ryan Phillippe (“Crash” and “Cruel Intentions”) as Lt. Dixon Piper, Forte brings MacGruber to life as he makes a comeback as an action hero to save his country from nuclear warheads.
With actors like Forte, SNL’s Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, this film is sure to bring plenty of laughs, blow-ups and awkward sex scenes.
Seating is first come, first serve, and students can pick up free tickets at UMC 401. The film starts at 9 p.m. in Chem 140 and there will be a Q&A session after the movie with cast members.
