A CU student is awaiting a court date after being arrested on charges of criminal mischief, obstruction of a peace officer and underage possession.
Boulder Police arrested CU student Cameron Boll, a 19-year-old freshman open-option major, over the weekend. Boll was at a party in the 1100 block of 10th Street on Saturday at 12:50 a.m. when a police officer saw Boll drop or throw a piece of concrete onto the roof of a police car, said Sarah Huntley, Boulder Police Department public information officer.
“Officers were at a nuisance party issuing summons when an officer saw him [Boll] throw or drop a piece of concrete onto the roof of the patrol car,” Huntley said.
Huntley said Boll took off running after the officer yelled at him to stop. The officers followed after Boll and briefly lost sight of him. When they found him he was lying on the ground and believed he had possibly hit his head from running into a nearby fence.
“The officers put him in handcuffs and called for paramedics,” Huntley said. “When the paramedics got there he came to and he was being very aggressive and combative. He started calling them Nazi’s and communists and became physically combative.”
From there Boll was taken to Boulder Community Hospital where he tried to chew through his neck brace. Boll was eventually taken to the Boulder County Jail, but was released later on Saturday.
The damages to the police car are estimated to be between $500 and $1,000 according to Huntley.
