Senior Monica Milewski churned out the 89th win of her career as the Buffs garnered their seventh loss against Big 12 foes against the Texas A&M Aggies 5-2 at the Millennium Hotel Harvest House.
Friday’s competition was moved indoors after the bizarre weather Boulder experienced. With the loss, the Buffs fall to 10-11 on the season with a 3-7 record in the Big 12.
Milewski’s win came over No. 59 Elze Potgieter in the singles matches, 6-3 and 7-5, enough for her 24th match win of the season. Her Big 12 record stands in high contrast to her team’s—the win pushes her singles record to 7-1 in the conference.
The Buffs lost all three doubles points and generated two victories in the singles matches.
One came from the 93-ranked Milewski, the other point arriving with sophomore Michala Hedelund Jensen’s racket.
Hedelund Jensen defeated Sheri Olivier 6-3, 6-0 to take CU 3-2 before the Aggies’ onslaught shut down the Buffs and secured the Texas A & M win.
CU will host their final regular series matches on Sunday, facing No. 19 Texas at the South Campus Courts beginning at 11 a.m.
