Apparently the Colorado Buffaloes tennis team just needed some home cooking.
The Buffs won their third straight match at home on Sunday as they defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 6-1 at the South Campus Courts in Boulder.
After starting the season 7-3, the Buffs (10-8, 3-4 Big 12) dropped five straight before they returned home to beat Missouri on April 3 and Kansas State on April 9. The victory on Sunday over KU is Colorado’s fifth in a row over the Jayhawks.
Sophomore Michala Hedelund Jensen/junior Abbie Probert and senior Melisa Esposito/freshman Erin Sanders each won their doubles matches to help give CU the early 1-0 advantage with the doubles point.
In singles, the Buffs took five of the six matches with senior Monica Milewski, Esposito, Probert, Jensen, and Sanders all getting victories.
CU’s next match is on Friday in Lubbock, Texas against Texas Tech.
