Leave it to the seniors to set an example.
The men and women’s hammer throws kicked off the Colorado Invitational at Potts Field in Boulder Friday with three seniors starting the event on a high note for the Buffs.
Senior athlete Kaity Kark finished as the Buffs’ top athlete by surpassing her personal best with a toss of 160 feet, 4 inches to place her in fifth place. Fellow senior Chynna McCall followed by breaking her own personal best with a throw of 148-05 to finish in 10th.
Senior Patrick Bachmann was the Buffs’ top male finisher. He tossed for 165-08 to finish in ninth place.
The event continues Saturday with additional throwing, jumping and running events.
