In the final tune-up before the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Championships, the No. 2 CU ski team did fairly well.
Four Buffaloes finished in the top five in men’s and women’s slalom at the RMISA Qualifier at Sugar Bowl Ski Area in Norden, Calif. This comes the day after CU won the Nevada Invitational on Saturday in Truckee, Calif.
No official team scores were kept at the RMISA event.
In the men’s slalom, senior Drew Roberts finished second with a time of 1:26.61 while junior Gabriel Rivas finished third with a time of 1:26.74 for CU.
Juniors Carolina Nordh and Katie Hartman led the Buffs in the women’s slalom with Nordh finishing fourth with a time of 1:26.86 and Hartman finishing fifth with a time of 1:27.04.
The Buffs will host the RMISA Championships next weekend in Steamboat Springs beginning Friday before hosting the NCAA National Championships March 10 through March 13.
