For the second straight day the CU tennis team didn’t lose a match.
The Colorado Buffaloes swept the New Mexico Lobos 7-0 on Sunday at the Randy Briggs Tennis Bubble in Albuquerque, N.M.
The back-to-back shutouts are the first for the Buffs (5-3) since they performed the same feat four straight times in 2008.
“Traditionally, New Mexico is a solid tennis team and they always play a tough match,” said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally in a news release. “It was a great win by our team today.”
CU started the match sweeping the doubles point for the early lead before sweeping the singles matches.
Seniors Monica Milewski, Melisa Esposito and Camila Belassi, junior Abbie Probert, sophomore Michala Hedelund Jensen and freshman Erin Sanders were the Buffaloes who won their singles matches against the Lobos (1-4).
Colorado will return home next Saturday where they will host Denver at 10 a.m. at the Millennium Harvest House.
