Boulder Police are investigating a reported robbery. An unidentified 20-year-old male CU student reported that near 1:30 a.m. on Saturday he was held at knifepoint and robbed of his cell phone in the 1600 block of 17th Street, said Sarah Huntley, Boulder Police’s spokesperson.
Two roughly 21-year-old males wearing black hooded sweatshirts approached the victim and demanded money, Huntley said.
“One of the suspects pulled a knife on his stomach and demanded money,” Huntley said. “When the victim told them he only had a cell phone and a lighter, one of the suspects punched him in the face and when he fell to the ground and then they kicked him and they robbed him of his cell phone.”
After being robbed the victim then tried to go to a friend’s house to borrow the phone to report the robbery, Huntley said.
However, when he arrived his friend wasn’t there, so the victim went home to use his roommate’s phone instead, Huntley said. The victim then reported the call after his roommate arrived near 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The victim sustained some facial injuries, but was not hospitalized, Huntley said.
“The case is still under investigation,” Huntley said.
