Judging by her most recent performance, freshman tennis player Erin Sanders knows how to make an impression.
In her college debut for the Buffs, Sanders led the CU women’s tennis team to a 4-3 win over the BYU Cougars Saturday in Provo, Utah.
Even though the Buffs started out losing two of the three doubles matches, they were able to rally back with four singles victories.
Senior Melisa Esposito edged her singles opponent, giving sophomore Ania Anuszkiewicz the opportunity to even the score with her win over Elizaveta Ezhova of BYU.
Sanders’ final efforts secured a Buff victory, as she defeated BYU’s Romina Nedakovic in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, and 6-1.
With their record now standing at 3-2, the Buffs will travel to Boise to take on the Boise State Broncos on Sunday afternoon.
