CU’s improv comedy ensemble Left Right TIM along with the CU Independent’s own multimedia editor Greg O’Brien have created a parody of the well-known “Snuggie” infomercial, which is receiving a lot of attention.
The parody video, “Snuggie Commerical” can be viewed on the group’s Facebook page, as well as on its Web site. It has received over 600 hits after having been on the Internet for about a month.
“We’ve been working on other videos but this is the first shown to the public,” O’Brien said. “That’s a huge thing for us; we’re looking to do more stuff down the road because of all the success of this video.”
O’Brien, a 21-year-old junior broadcast production major, has been working with Left Right TIM to create multimedia pieces. The video was edited and compiled by O’Brien along with fellow student Matt McAllister and CU alum Dustin Rumsey.
O’Brien and McAllister have also started a production corporation, “Square Two Productions.”
“We started [the corporation] and wanted to do a TV show series with Left Right TIM which turned in to a series of online videos,” O’Brien said. “We’re also working on other projects including two documentaries.”
McAllister, a 21-year-old junior political science major, said that the purpose of their production company is to help student groups. He said the company is doing a project with UCSU to produce a documentary on zero-waste.
“The main thing we want to highlight is that we’re a bunch of students working together,” McAllister said. “We’re providing high quality and affordable video services to student groups and local organizations.”
