Who knew a vacation wouldn’t change the polls?
The CU Independent Top 10 college football poll went on hiatus last week because of fall break, but returns with college football’s six undefeated teams still intact in the exact order from two weeks ago. This means No. 1 versus No. 2 will square off at 2 p.m. MST Saturday on CBS in a match of epic proportions.
Thankfully, the bottom four spots in the poll have seen plenty of movement.
Oregon and Iowa enter the poll while Georgia Tech stays in despite losing 30-24 to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Here is week 7 of the CU:I Top 10 college football poll:
No. 1 Florida, 12-0, 67 points (6), last week No. 1: Tim Tebow versus Mark Ingram. Florida versus Alabama. Computers versus fans. It all comes down to this. – Brent New, staff writer
No. 2 Alabama, 12-0, 62 points (1), last week No. 2: Beat the Gators in the SEC Championship Game and the Nicktator’s Crimson Tide will play for the national championship. – Cheng Sio, CU:I co-sports editor
No. 3 Texas, 12-0, 58 points, last week No. 3: Longhorns needed perhaps Colt McCoy’s best game of his career to escape College Station, Texas with a win. No. 9 Georgia Tech, 10-2, 9 points, last week No. 7: Yellow Jackets face Clemson in the ACC Championship Game to determine the conference’s BCS berth. It should be a great matchup of two premier running backs with Clemson’s C.J. Spiller and Georgia Tech’s Jonathan Dwyer. – Starcer
No. 10 Iowa, 10-2, 6 points, not ranked last week: After a great season, Iowa deserves to win the Big Ten Conference, but they’re going to have to wait until next year to accomplish it. – Knabenbauer
