Playing host doesn’t always mean you’ll win.
The Colorado Buffaloes women’s golf team found that out on Tuesday as they watched Texas Tech win the CU Heather Farr Memorial tournament at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie.
Colorado’s “A” team finished sixth in their host tournament while its “B” team finished 16th out of 20 teams.
Sophomore Emily Talley recorded the Buffs only top 10 finish in the tournament, finishing tied for eighth after hitting a 75-74-74-223 in three rounds.
“I personally like playing in tougher conditions,” Talley said in a news release. “I’m not always an under-par player and I know how to shoot par in any circumstance. When it’s harder for everyone else, I try and make it work to my advantage. It’s nice to finally break the ice and crack the top-10 but I need continue to step it up.”
The Buffs next competition will be the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in less than three weeks, Oct. 26-27 in Boulder City, Nev.
