How long will warm weather last?
Temperatures are on the rise in the Boulder area and could reach the 60s by the weekend.
As the grass begins to get green, students are taking advantage of warmer weather and making outdoor plans.
“It’s nice to be able to sit outside and just people watch,” said Jordon Griffler, a sophomore environmental studies major. “You don’t really have to be doing much to enjoy the weather.”
Skies will be mostly sunny Friday with an afternoon high in the mid 50s. Wind will be moderate, blowing southwest around 10 miles per hour, but should not put a damper on a beautiful day.
Spring-like conditions could possibly mean a drop in class attendance if students find it hard to remain indoors as the weather improves.
Liz Pilarsky, a senior Spanish major, said sunny skies can sometimes keep her from class.
“When it gets warm, it’s too nice to just sit inside,” she said. “I’d rather be outdoors than in class.”
Saturday will also be sunny and warm with a high of 62 degrees, which is 10 degrees higher than the average temperature for this time of year. Morning lows Saturday will be in the mid-30s, but it should warm up by noontime.
But don’t put away your winter clothing just yet, the warm weather won’t last long.
A mix of rain and snow showers are in the forecast for Sunday and temperatures will only reach the upper-30s.
