Police arrested former Interfraternity Council president and former UCSU Legislative Council vice president Christopher Kline with a small amount of cocaine on Friday.
Police responded to an alleged assault at the Delta Chi fraternity house on The Hill at 2:40 a.m. on Friday. Kline was at the house, and “appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance,” according to the police report filed on the incident written by arresting officer Steve Sanders.
Kline was found with a bag of what later “tested presumptive positive for cocaine.”
Kline “attempted to kick the baggy with his right foot” and “then moved to the side and stood between Officer Arrigo and the small baggy,” according to the police report.
Kline was arrested for possession of a schedule two narcotic – a class four felony – and taken to the Boulder County Jail.
The exact details of the assault case are not yet clear.
“We of course are concerned for Chris and his family,” Marc Stine, the Greek advocate for the IFC said. “Whenever there is a summons written or an arrest made at a fraternity house or a fraternity function, then that incident is reviewed by the Interfraternity Council judicial board.”
Stine said that the IFC judicial board deals with “violations of its own policies by fraternity chapters, the university Judicial Affairs Office deals with individual students.”
All fraternity members and officers interviewed declined to comment.
