Snow likely through Sunday
Winter weather is expected to hit Boulder just in time for the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service Web site, Boulder is under a winter weather advisory. Snow is expected to have begun, continuing through Sunday with the best chance for snow accumulation on Friday and Saturday. Accumulation should be light but daytime melting may cause icy roads.
Eldora, Loveland and Winter Park ski areas are reporting more than a foot of new snow from this storm. Winter storm warnings are in effect for western slopes through Saturday.
An avalanche watch is in effect for the mountains along the I-70 corridor.
Those traveling into the mountains this weekend should expect delays and chain requirements.
