Events coordinator remembered as a positive person
UCSU and the Korean American Students at Boulder co-sponsored a candlelight vigil Nov. 15 that was held for a key member of the KASB who died Nov. 9.
Jeff Dye, a senior history major and events coordinator for KASB, was found dead last week. Dye’s friends said no foul play was suspected in the student’s death.
Friends brought a scrapbook for those who wished to leave a photo or a personal message in remembrance at the vigil. They said Dye enjoyed hitting the slopes with his skis and playing paintball.
Dye was an active member in the Korean community, spending the past summer in Korea.
Friends left messages on Dye’s Facebook page expressing how much he would be missed.
“Jeff was a genuine good guy,” one friend wrote. “He cared about everyone. He would bend over backwards to see you smile, even if that meant that he couldn’t be happy.”
Other friends wrote that Dye was a trusting, determined and positive person.
Friends said he will be sorely missed.
“Jeff, you are at peace now,” another friend wrote. “You will be remembered always. You were our friend.”

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in Steamboat Springs at the Olympian Hall of Howelsen Hill.
