Broken windows, trespassing among recent Boulder crime
Boulder Police Department Blotter
April 9
- Officers took a report of a theft, third-degree assault and criminal mischief from Rite Aid, 3348 28th St. The manager was allegedly assaulted after confronting two people stealing items from the store. There is suspect information, and the case is under active investigation.
April 10
- A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree criminal trespass after officers were called to the area of 14th Street and Canyon Boulevard on a report of a man trying to open the door of an occupied vehicle. The victim stated that the man and a companion looked through the windows of the vehicle before the man attempted to open the door several times. The victim then observed the man try to open the door of another vehicle in the area.
- Officers took a report of criminal mischief in the 1600 block of 9th Street after it was reported that a brick was thrown through a front window. The incident may be related to some males who were asked to leave a gathering at the residence shortly before the incident occurred.
April 11
- Officers responded to the 4400 block of Laguna Place on a report of a burglary in progress after a man was seen trying to break into an apartment. The suspect fled, but officers do have leads. The case is under investigation.
CUPD Blotter
April 9
- Criminal mischief at Sewall Hall was reported. One of the stall partitions in the basement restroom area was torn from wall along with a paper-towel dispenser. There are no suspects.
- A theft near 13th Street and Grandview Avenue was reported. Two parking barricades were stolen sometime during the day. There are no suspects.
April 10
- Criminal mischief at Old Main was reported. A workman discovered a broken window on the south side of the building on the ground level. He said the window was not broken the week before. There are no suspects.
- A theft from Macky Auditorium was reported. A man had leaned his bicycle against the building for a few minutes while he ran inside. When he came back out, the bike was gone.
