Wireless network going down for maintenance

An interuption in dorm wireless service expected Thursday morning

Wireless Internet networks in CU residence halls will be down for an hour early Thursday morning.

The network will be temporarily suspended from 6 to 7 a.m. in order for Internet Technology Services to increase wireless security.

“We want to close a loop to make everyone have to register their computer to go online,” said Greg Stauffer, public relations and communication manager for ITS.

A second wireless outage is planned for the remainder of the campus wireless network Oct. 9, from 6 a.m. to 7a.m.

Stauffer said that Ethernet connections will not be effected by this outage. All labs and “Scarpies” will be available to students needing computer access during these hours.
