This week in crime: Foolin' around in the back of the bus; high school streaking plans foiled

Each week, The Campus Press compiles a list of all Boulder’s happenings, as listed in the police blotters of the city’s law enforcement agencies.

September 17

-Officers took a report of alleged harassment and unlawful sexual contact in the 2100 block of Mesa Dr. There is suspect information and the case is under investigation.

September 18

-Officers took a report of an alleged sexual assault that was reported to have occurred in Boulder approximately one month ago. There is suspect information and the case is under investigation.

-An alleged second degree and third degree assault was reported during the CU vs. FSU football game. The man who put in the call said that he left the game at halftime with his girlfriend and a mutual friend to attend a tailgate party in Franklin Field. There they met a seemingly intoxicated man who allegedly slapped the victim for no apparent reason. At this time, the victim attempted to walk away, but was pursued and again slapped, then struck in the back of the head. At this point others began attacking the victim, whose friend tried to defend him, but was struck on the back of the head by a beer bottle. The three managed to escape and opted, for their own safety, to leave the scene of the crime before calling the authorities.

-An RTD bus driver in the 3600 block of Table Mesa Drive reported to officers of alleged endangering of public transportation. The driver reported that two men were told to get off the bus after the driver observed them engaging in sexual activity in the back of the bus. He reported that one man spat on him and threw a rock at the bus as they departed.

-Freshman international affairs major John M. Addleman and freshman environmental design major Ryan L. Birse were issued summonses by officers outside of the Fiske Planetarium on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.

-Officers arrested freshman pre-communication major Scott H. Pyzik on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, second degree burglary, third degree assault, criminal attempt, attempted sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact. After contacting the student at Stearns East Hall, officers learned that he had allegedly taken mushrooms and begun barging into women’s rooms, babbling incoherently and unbuttoning his pants. Several women reported that this had happened to them, and that the suspect was clearly looking for a sexual encounter. Another male in the building managed to detain the suspect until officers arrived.

September 19

-Officers took a report of a burglary in the 800 block of 9th St. The victim is missing a DeWalt chop saw from a construction site.

-Freshman open-option major Ashley A. Babcock and freshman ecology and evolutionary biology Richelle L. De Guzman were issued summonses for possession and consumption of less than one ounce of marijuana. The two students were contacted at Farrand Hall.

September 20

-Officers took a felony menacing report from a student at the September School, 1902 Walnut St. There was a delay in reporting and the officers were unable to locate suspects. The student reported that he got into argument with three transients near the school and one pulled out a machete. The incident was reported to the school after the student, apparently angry from the confrontation, struck a mail box and severely injured his hand. The case is under investigation.

-Senior advertising major Aaron I. Younger was arrested on suspicion of DUI and failure to obey traffic control device.

-A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of third degree assault after police were dispatched to the area of 13th and Pearl on a report of a woman assaulting people on the mall. She is accused of assaulting a woman who would not give her money while she was panhandling aggressively.

-17-year-old student was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure after security guards at the Boulder-Fairview football game caught him trying to climb over a fence onto the field wearing only some body paint. He told police his plan was to streak across the field with a friend. His friend was not apprehended.

-During the Boulder-Fairview football game, officers received a secondhand report of someone in the bushes with a gun near the field. The report indicated the person was wearing all black. Another person reported seeing someone in the area wearing all black with something in their hand, but they did not see a gun. Others reported that there were several children playing in area and there did not appear to be anything suspicious. Given that black was one of the team colors, there were many people wearing a lot of black in the area. No suspicious activity was seen by officers and no suspects or victims were identified. Several officers were in the area at the time and additional officers set up a perimeter around the area during the search for a suspect.

September 22

-UCSU Legislative Council Representative-at-large Abdallah El-Yacoubi was issued a summons for unlawful conduct on public property at the CU vs. Miami-Ohio football game.
