How to: Stay Focused

Avoiding distraction and finding the right environment top list

College life makes it difficult for any student to keep their focus.

Here are some helpful tips students can use to help eliminate distractions and get homework done:

A great way to start is finding the right environment.

“I like to go to the library and stay on campus to get stuff done,” Teddy Findling, 19, a sophomore chemistry major, said.

Students can check out laptops from Norlin and the UMC or use one of the computer labs.

But users beware, as any student can attest, Facebook and e-mail can be some of the biggest distractions.

If the temptation to scour Facebook for the hottie you sat next to in Biology is too strong, it’s probably best to work away from a computer until you get your assignment done.

If you prefer to study off campus, Boulder has a variety of restaurants and cafes targeted to students.
