Female student pedestrian seriously injured by vehicle on Arapahoe
A female student suffered serious injuries after she was struck by a pickup truck at 8:20 p.m. Thursday on Arapahoe Avenue.
Sgt. Jim MacPherson of the Boulder Police Department said that the pickup truck veered off onto the sidewalk where the student was walking.
“A northbound truck on Folsom, just north of Taft [Drive], went on the curb and struck a pedestrian that was on the sidewalk causing serious injuries to the pedestrian,” Sgt. MacPherson said.
Police have confirmed that the female is a CU student although her name cannot be released as of yet, Sgt. MacPherson said.
The student was immediately taken to Boulder Community Hospital with serious injuries.
The identity of the male driver of the full-sized, four-door pick up truck has been confirmed. He is not a CU student. Any details as to how the driver veered onto the sidewalk are still under investigation.
Further investigation is being done into the causes of the accident by traffic units.
