Patrick is entering his fourth semester on staff at the CU Independent as a photographer and reporter. He got his start in photojournalism shooting for his high school newspaper in 2007 when he won Best High School Sports Photograph awarded by Rich Clarkson and Associates and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. The senior media studies major and history minor traveled to Italy last summer where he studied photography with professional travel photojournalist and University of Arizona professor Kim Newton. In his free time Patrick enjoys fly-fishing, snowboarding and taking in the occasional Rockies game. Patrick’s goal is to travel extensively while photographing sports, rarely seen travel destinations and all aspects of humanity.
