The Boulder Police Department is currently investigating the report of a sexual assault and burglary that occurred on the 1800 block of 22nd Street, said Sarah Huntley, Boulder Police public information officer.
The victim, aged under 25, reported that around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, while sleeping next to her boyfriend, an unidentified man entered her home and awoke her when he put his hand down her pants, Huntley said.
“Initially she thought it was her boyfriend, but he was asleep next to her,” Huntley said. “She then screamed, grabbed [the suspect’s] arm and pushed him away.”
The victim’s boyfriend then woke up and chased the suspect out the back door, Huntley said.
Police believe the suspect entered the house through an unlocked door, Huntley said.
The detectives decided not to disclose whether the victim went to CU, Huntley said.
The victim said she did not know the suspect, Huntley said.
“We have a very limited description of the suspect, but we are working on getting a composite sketch,” Huntley said.
