Rams still lead 14-10 with 5:38 left in the third

Crosby nails 61-yard field goal, but it’s no good because Rams called timeout before the snap

5:38 left 3rd quarter:

The Rams opened play in the second half by going three downs and out after Dizon sacked Hanie on third down, forcing CSU to punt.

The Buffs’ next series began well as Holliday and Jackson each carried for 5 and 6 yards respectively, but the drive was derailed by a CSU sack of Jackson on third down. Crosby entered the game for a 61-yard field goal attempt, and the kick appeared to be good as Crosby boomed a kick that cleared the crossbar by at least 10 yards. However CSU had called timeout before the snap, taking the points off the board. Crosby’s second try was short and wide left.

The Rams took over at the 47-yard line and quickly got into Buff territory with a 27-yard pass from Hanie to Walker. CU defensive end Wright would sack Hanie for a loss of 13 on the next play, and after a huge hit by Buffs linebacker Washington, Wright again sacked Hanie on third down, forcing a Ram punt. The punt was returned by receiver Robinson for 36 yards, putting the Buffs in good field position.
