UNITE ticket sweeps fall student government elections

The CU student government fall elections came to their conclusion Thursday.

Ten candidates were elected out of the 11 that ran, five for positions as CUSG representatives-at-large and five for Arts and Sciences Student Government representatives-at-large.

All 10 candidates belong to the UNITE party, which currently controls the Executive branch of CUSG. The one candidate who was not elected, Joseph Hinojosa, is not a member of the UNITE party.

The new CUSG representatives-at-large are C.J. Manning, Noha Kikhia, Ilsa Hale, Weston Ballard and Steven Vigil-Roach.

The new ASSG Representatives-at-large are Samantha Webster, Shalia Skjong, Naureen Singh, Erin Pettis and Keyi Xu.

The election results are preliminary, pending any election complaints filed against the candidates. The deadline to file said complaints is 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
