The University of Colorado women’s basketball team was hoping to win their third straight Pac-12 match-up Sunday, March 2 against the University of Southern California at the Coors Events Center, but fell short. The Buffs were lethargic in the first half, dropping as much as 14 points behind the Trojans, but hinted at a comeback just before the halftime mark.
They rallied with a 14-2 run at the beginning of the second half, tying the game at 36. After dropping 12 points behind the Trojans, the Buffs mounted one last comeback effort, gaining a one-point lead with just over a minute to play. In the end, the Trojans battled back, ending the game 59-66.
As the No. 9-seeded team entering the Pac-12 Tournament, the Buffs will face UCLA at 1 p.m. MST this Thursday in Seattle, Wash.
