The Boulder Police Department has discovered that last weekend’s assault on the Hill did not actually occur.
A campus-wide email was sent out on Sunday detailing the supposed attack, during which a 20-year-old woman claimed to have been engaged in a struggle with a suspect described as a black male approximately six feet tall and 200 pounds.
She told police that she was alone on University Avenue just after midnight when she was assaulted, but was able to injure the man and get away.
“Detectives have determined that the report was false,” said Kim Kobel, a spokesperson for the Boulder police. “I don’t know yet whether or not charges will be filed against her.”
Kobel confirmed that the woman is a CU student, but said the BPD is not ready to release any other information regarding the case.
