The CU Police Department is awaiting a warrant to make an arrest in the case of the break-in at Bear Creek Apartments, said Molly Bosley, spokeswoman for the police department.
The police department has a person of interest in the case, Bosley said.
An unidentified suspect broke into the administrative offices of Bear Creek Apartments over spring break, burglarizing and causing considerable damage, she said.
Bosley said the suspect broke in through a window and ransacked the reception area, damaging furniture. The suspect also stole $390 and destroyed a metal rent box valued at $650.
She said 50 packages belonging to residents of the apartment complex were also stolen, but most have been recovered.
The suspect may be charged with criminal mischief, theft and second-degree burglary, Bosley said. If convicted of these charges, the suspect faces significant jail time.
