Thirty-two and 24 are not magic numbers for the Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team.
Those numbers signify their Big 12 Conference and Division-I road losing streaks, respectively, following their 67-63 loss to Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, on Saturday.
Senior guard Donald Sloan led the Aggies with 18 points as Texas A&M (14-5, 3-2 Big 12) extended their home-court winning streak to 14 games.
Junior guard Cory Higgins and freshman guard Alec Burks each scored 19 for Colorado (10-9, 1-4 in Big 12), who came up short in its most recent attempt to stop their road woes.
The Aggies led for most of the second half, but a 6-0 Colorado run tied the game at 59 with 53 seconds to play.
On A&M’s next possession, a two-handed slam by forward Bryan Davis on an offensive rebound put them back on top. CU couldn’t answer when Burks lost his balance on a spin move and his floater came up short of the rim. The Aggies went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line to seal the deal.
Colorado returns home to host rival Nebraska at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Coors Events Center.
