The University of Colorado cross country team just keep racking up individual wins.
After both the men’s and women’s teams won the Rocky Mountain Shootout last weekend, freshman Joe Bosshard and junior Laura Thweatt each won their respective races at the Fort Hays State Open in Hays, Kan. on Saturday.
Thweatt finished first in the women’s 5-kilometer race in 17 minutes and 5.27 seconds, 70 seconds faster than the runner-up.
On the men’s side, Bosshard was the first to cross the finish line in the men’s 8K race as he finished with a time of 24:09.73, nine seconds faster than Colorado School of Mines runner Ben Zywicki.
Senior Seth DeMoor also found his way into the top 10 for Colorado, finishing seventh with a time of 24:58.81.
Northern Colorado won the women’s team title while the Colorado School of Mines won the men’s team title.
The Buffs’ next meet will be the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. on Oct. 17.
