Expect to see a whole new line of Apple products
When it comes to technology, products are always changing.
According to Appleinsider.com and Macrumors.com, there have been rumors that Apple has been planning on making new models for a number of products as well as updating some existing items.
After the widely recognized new iPhone 3G model was launched, fans started to expect Apple to change a lot of its products. Some of the products that are thought to be changing are the MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPod Nano and the iPod Touch.
“Meshing style with function is important to laptop owners, especially students, and Apple has always been very good at that,” said Sean McNeely, a junior humanities major.
The MacBook is expected to have a new aluminum case and both the MacBook and MacBook Pro will feature a tapered design similar to the MacBook Air.
Some believe new design will not impact how people feel about the MacBook or MacBook Pro.
“People like Macs and I don’t think the new looks will matter that much,” said Rebecca Partridge, a sophomore anthropology major.
Regardless of how people feel about style, the new aluminum case would offer more functionality.
Eric Pierce, an employee at The Mac Shack, noted that a few common complaints about the plastic case, which is what the MacBook currently uses, include a tendency to become discolored to the left and right of the touchpad and that cracks would occur from closing the laptop with more than moderate force.
New MacBook Pro features are suspected to include a removable cover that will allow access to the battery and the hard drive. According to Appleinsider.com, some people even have guessed that this could mean Apple will allow people to make their own custom upgrades without voiding the warranty.
Images from Macrumors.com suggest that the iPod Nano will go back to the more rectangular shape with a longer screen than the original. Appleinsider.com also claims that the Nano will have a change in memory while the most notable change in the iPod Touch will be a $199 price.
The iPod upgrades are speculated to be announced on Sept. 9 according to Arstechnica.com, but Apple could very well do something no consumer expects when it comes to releasing something new.

“Its good that they are improving their products but it’s annoying because you never know when,” said Hayley Hoffman, freshman pre-communication major. “And it is usually right after you purchase.”
All of this information is purely speculation. Apple is notorious for keeping their newest products to themselves until they decide it is time to share.
