Sunny skies to return Monday
A snow and blowing snow advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Sunday evening for Boulder County.
Snow accumulation will be between 3 and 6 inches, and temperatures will only reach the low 30s. Due to blowing winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour and gusts up to 35 miles per hour, the temperature will only feel about 20 degrees.
The strong winds Sunday may produce blizzard-like conditions in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.
The blowing snow advisory means that visibility on the roads will be limited and extra caution should be used.
There are icy spots on Highway 36 between Boulder and Denver, as well as ice and limited snow on Highway 36 between Boulder and Estes Park, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Light snow showers are expected to continue through the evening until midnight.
In true Colorado fashion, the weather will change quickly, and sunny skies will cover the area most of the day Monday.
