Weekly golf tips from the CU golf team
Whether you go every weekend or twice a year, a few golf tips can’t hurt your game. The Campus Press sports section will be publishing a weekly feature that brings team tips and insights from both coaches and players right to your fingertips.
Starting next week, this feature will be in video format so that you can experience team suggestions firsthand.
This week, men’s golf coach Roy Edwards offers a season-starter tip to ease back into swing and onto the course after the long winter.
“This time of year, go out to the course with little to no expectations,” Edwards said.
As golfers of all ages head back to the frozen course, they do so with a smile on their faces.
Edwards said he hopes to keep it that way.
He went on to say that winter snow makes routine practice difficult, and you should remember that as you head back out.
“Don’t have low expectations but be conservative on shots,” Edwards said.
So instead of trying to knock it 350 yards down the center of the fairway, go for a more modest 300. Your attitude will thank you for it.
