Evening forecast calls for possible trick-or-treat snow
The smartest people this Halloween will be the ones dressed as the Michelin tire man. Trick-or-treaters and partygoers may want to dress in layers – this Halloween’s going to be a cold one.
According to the National Weather Service, there will be a slight chance of rain and snow before noon today. The high will be near 51 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. The temperature will drop after sundown with a low around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. There’s a chance that the rain will turn to snow during the night.
Colorado is typically cold on Halloween with an average low of 23 degrees Fahrenheit over the last five years, according to the National Weather Service.
“There is usually a period of five days before Halloween and five days afterward where Colorado gets very cold,” said Betsy Forrest, an instructor in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences.
Trick-or-treaters should dress appropriately.
