Free bottles distributed with campaign flyers
This UCSU election candidates running on the BUFFS ticket are taking their campaigning to a new level by teaming up with corporate sponsor Vitaminwater.
Vitaminwater’s parent company, Glaceau, has agreed to distribute free bottles of Vitaminwater this week to students on campus while promoting the BUFFS platform at the same time.
On Tuesday, Vitaminwater officials set up tents outside the UMC and on various other locations throughout campus and distributed approximately 500 cans of their new energy drink, Vitaminenergy. Each drink came with a flyer outlining the BUFFS ticket platform.
“Vitaminwater will be back Wednesday and most likely Thursday . to distribute more products and endorse our ticket,” said BUFFS ticket candidate, Uller Doetsch. “Glaceau has been overwhelmingly supportive of distributing our materials and are eager to help us with our campaign.”
Vitaminwater agreed to sponsor the BUFFS ticket after the group contacted Vitaminwater’s parent company, Coca-Cola.
The BUFFS ticket candidates will have to wait and see whether or not the endorsement will have affect their ability to win this election.
“At this point, we don’t have any indication as to how much Vitaminwater has helped our campaign,” Doetsch said. “However, the sponsorship has helped us greatly by being a mechanism to get our ideas out to students.”
