Tigers too much for Buffs
The Missouri Tigers defeated the CU volleyball team 3-2 Wednesday night.
At the beginning of the match-up, Missouri clearly overpowered the Buffs, limiting them to an average 10.5 point deficit per game.
“After the first half (the coaches) told us that was the worst that they’ve ever seen us play. It was unacceptable” said right-side junior Alex Buth.
Missouri obtained 47 points after the first two games while Colorado only had 31. CU just averaged 19 points for the first two games while averaging only 4 blocks per game.
“We just got our act together after the second half,” said sophomore outside-hitter Emilee Sisco.
As the second half began, the Buffs took advantage of an obviously tired Tigers squad, winning two consecutive games by an average margin of 3 points. As overtime ensued, Missouri came out strong, limiting the Buffs to only 9 points, adding another loss to Colorado’s record.
The Buffaloes next match-up is against top-ranked Nebraska. Although they have a tough game ahead of them, the team remains as optimistic as ever.
“We definitely have the ability to beat them, they’re nothing more than a volleyball team,” Buth said.
