Search for new president proving costly
CU’s Presidential Search Committee has recently enlisted the help of Storbeck/Pimentel Executive Search Consultants, to the tune of $125,000.
“The Board of Regents approved a budget last year after President Brown put in his retirement notice,” said Steve Bosley, CU regent and chairman of the Presidential Search Committee.
The total budget was approved for $275,000, which includes the fee due to Storbeck/Pimentel. The fee also includes travel costs expected to reach as high as $15,000.
CU’s regents have spent the last eight months preparing to find the best candidate to replace current president Hank Brown, who has said he would stay a year beyond his retirement notice if the search were not complete.
The board does not have a timeline for when they expect to find the new president; the regents and Brown agree they need to find the best person for the job.
CU has used the services of Storbeck/Pimentel before, which brought Bud Peterson to CU as chancellor.
