Snow slows construction at Arapahoe and Foothills
Arapahoe Ave. will be closed in both directions at its intersection with Foothills Parkway April 14 through the morning of April 16.
The closure will began at 3 a.m. Saturday morning and continue until 6 a.m. Monday to allow work crews to pave a crucial segment of the intersection.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured down 30th St. and westbound will detoured down 55th St. Foothills Parkway will remain open, though no traffic will be permitted to turn onto Arapahoe Ave. Pedestrians and bicyclists will be allowed to cross Foothills Parkway on the south side of the intersection. Officials do not anticipate any further closures in the near future.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this closure and postponement causes,” said Transportation Director Tracy Winfree in a City of Boulder press release. “The forecast now calls for up to three inches of snow on Saturday, which impacts the crew’s ability to effectively complete the work in a quality manner.”
