After a long process lasting since late January and early February when University of Colorado Student Union cost centers provided budget requests to UCSU Finance Board, Legislative Council has approved a appropriations. Thursday evening, after minimal debate, the 2007-2008 Appropriations Bill was passed unanimously, though the results were far different from what was originally proposed by the cost centers.
The total allocations for the twelve major cost centers amounted to $16,762,683 an increase of $292,712 from last year. However, UCSU has just over $13 million dollars in funds that go to funds various referendums and other charges. This does not necessarily mean student fee increases next year, but may be considered a good indicator. These changes as well as cuts from the budgets and their relation to previous years approved budgets are represented in the following figures.
