Students react to Hank Brown’s office move
Years of tradition faded away when CU President Hank Brown moved his offices off the Boulder campus and into Denver this school year.
According to Michele McKinney of the president’s office, 59 staff members, all from different locations, were moved for several reasons.
“Denver is a more centralized location,” McKinney said. “We are also saving significantly, around $263,000, because of the new building we are leasing and for all the money we’re saving on equipment we don’t have to buy now that we can all share it in one location.”
McKinney also said that having the president away from the Boulder campus gives more definition to the chancellor. Many student and parent concerns have often been directed to the president when they should have been aimed at the chancellor.
