About Esteban Hernandez

A California native, Esteban is the now in his fifth semester with the CU Independent and is a junior news-editorial major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Apart from writing and editing, Esteban also enjoys listening to Mexican music, magazine reading, newspaper browsing, movie watching, cattle roping, obsessing over his extensive tie collection, keeping it real, shining his boots and listening to those who are willing to share their story. He is a first generation college student and currently works as the speciality publications intern for a local magazine. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he takes five classes in one day and spends a majority of his time on campus doing whatever it is college students do.
