It can only get better.
After winning their season opener over Air Force, the Colorado Buffaloes tennis team has lost two straight games, including a 4-0 shutout Friday to Sacramento State (1-0) at the 2010 ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Berkeley, Calif. The Buffs (1-2) have lost their last two by a combined 10-1.
In doubles competition, CU lost its first two matches and the third match never finished.
Sacramento State sealed the win when its No. 5, No. 3 and No. 1 singles players won, including 26th-ranked Katrina Zheltova knocking off senior Monica Milewski 6-3, 6-4. Again, the remaining matches, the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 singles, never finished.
Had CU won every unfinished match, they would not have mathematically beaten Sacramento State.
The Buffs will return to action against Utah (1-2) in the consolation match at noon Saturday.
