The Campus Press sat down with CU senior basketball player Dominique Coleman before practice Wednesday to talk about some of his likes and dislikes off the court.
CP: What kind of music do you have on your iPod?
DC: I listen to mostly R&B and rap music. I like artists like The Game, T.I. and Notorious B.I.G.
CP: What song gets you pumped up before games?
DC: I always listen to “Brenda’s Got A Baby” by Tupac.
CP: What about weekly TV? What is you favorite TV show?
DC: Definitely SportsCenter on ESPN.
CP: How many hours of SportsCenter do you watch a week?
DC: I don’t know, a lot. Too many.
CP: Who is your favorite SportsCenter anchor?
DC: Stuart Scott.
CP: Christmas is coming up soon, what are you doing for the holidays?
DC: Praying for some gifts.
CP: What gift are you praying for this year?
DC: Anything on 24-inch rims.
CP: What do you drive right now?
DC: A Dodge Stratus.
CP: Do you think you are going to get what you want?
DC: It’s doubtful.
CP: What do you usually do for Christmas?
DC: Usually I go back home to Oakland, but this year I’m staying here with the team.
CP: When you do get to go home, what is your favorite holiday meal?
DC: Anything my mom or aunt cooks, like fried chicken, mac and cheese and sweet potato pie.
CP: What is it like being one of only two seniors on the basketball team this year?
DC: It’s fine, it’s nothing new for me. I played as a senior in junior college so it’s old for me.
Coleman and the CU men’s basketball team will play Colorado State University on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Coors Events Center.
